ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE SANITARY AVIATION SERVICE IN THE DNIPRO REGION

Abstract

Abstract. To comprehensively research and highlight the history of the Dnipropetrovsk region's air ambulance service from its inception to the present day. To reconstruct the key stages of its development not only chronologically, but also to analyze the historical, economic, and political regional factors that influenced its changes in context: from equipment and technological innovations to institutional changes. Materials and methods: historical materials, including monographs, periodicals, official decrees, laws, digitized archives of references, and government reports. Bibliosemantic, descriptive, and historical methods of data processing were used. Results. The air ambulance service in the Dnipro region has an extensive and remarkable history with its own distinct regional characteristics and changes that have occurred since its first day under the influence of many factors: historical, geopolitical, economic, and medical ones. The collected material and its structured study represent a valuable contribution to the analysis of regional air ambulance services in Ukraine, which may become material for the development of an emergency medical chain in Ukraine, opening up significant prospects. Conclusions. The history of the Dnipro region's air ambulance service is characterized by a number of distinctive features: its formation and development at the turn of the century in difficult conditions. It was shaped by economic crises, institutional challenges, and the peculiarities of wartime. This paradigm and the nature of its development not only demonstrate the resilience and adaptability of the relevant industry and professional core, but also allow for the formation of significant potential for further development at the national level.
