Abstract

Purpose. to analyze the effectiveness and problems of the functioning of centers for disease control and prevention in Ukraine, as well as to develop a strategy for their development, in particular at the basic and regional levels by assessing the effectiveness of their work and implementing innovative approaches. Materials and Methods. The work uses theoretical and empirical research methods, including analysis of scientific sources, systematic analysis, comparative analysis method, data generalization, as well as statistical methods to assess the effectiveness of the functioning of centers for disease control and prevention. Results. The organizational structure and functions of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Ukraine are complex and multifunctional. It includes both state and regional levels, ensuring effective coordination and implementation of preventive measures. Important components are departments responsible for epidemiological surveillance, sanitary control, monitoring of morbidity, and organization of preventive campaigns. The high mortality rate from circulatory diseases and malignant neoplasms is one of the greatest challenges for healthcare institutions. This requires increased attention to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and cancer, in particular through improved access to early diagnosis and treatment. Among the main positive aspects, one can note the low level of maternal mortality and mortality of children under 5 years of age, which indicates the high efficiency of medical services in these areas. Conclusions. The results of the study of the effectiveness of the centers for disease control and prevention at the basic and regional levels of Vinnytsia region show various trends in the field of health care, reflecting the overall picture of the health of the population. In general, the indicators of the activity of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the region demonstrate certain positive changes in their work, however, there are also serious problems that require immediate intervention and improvement of medical measures.
