The Red Cross Hospital in the city of Dnipro has been an important, integral part of life in Dnipropetrovsk throughout history, determining the fates of thousands of citizens.Abstract
Purpose: to research and analyze the emergence and development of the Red Cross Hospital of Dnipro in the period of XIX–XX centuries, to identify the reasons for the stagnation of the medical complex. Materials and methods: monographs, fragments of periodicals, interviews of former workers and contemporaries, resolutions, certificates and reports; which were processed by bibliosemantic, descriptive, as well as historical methods of data processing. Results. The Red Cross Hospital in Dnipro is marked by a complicated history of emergence and eventual development amid revolutionary events, wars, scientific achievements and failures. The hospital had a great influence on historical events in Dnipropetrovsk region, playing an outstanding role as military hospitals, institutions for the needy and a research center.
