THE ROLE OF TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT OF MEDICAL SERVICES IN THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

Abstract

Purpose: studying the role of total quality management of healthcare services in improving the quality of institutions in the healthcare system. Materials and Methods. As an approach to data analysis, the content analysis method was used to systematically process, evaluate, and interpret the form and content of information sources. Results. Achieving continuous quality improvement is the fundamental basis of the Total Quality Management (TQM) and continuous quality improvement approaches in healthcare. The goal of TQI is to engage and motivate all levels of the healthcare workforce to take responsibility for the success of the organization. It is important that everyone in the organization works together to continuously improve the target solution, namely the quality of care provided to patients to meet their needs and expectations. A key tool for ensuring and improving the quality of medical services is clinical audit, which allows assessing the compliance of medical care with standards, identifying shortcomings and implementing corrective measures. Implementation of the TQM in the organizational process invariably leads to an improvement in the level of productivity of this organization. This has been proven to be a statistically significant result. The TQM methodology emphasizes patient satisfaction, identifying organizational problems, developing and promoting open decisionmaking among employees, and developing and promoting open decision-making among patients. Conclusions. Quality management involves improving patient safety, minimizing errors, and optimizing healthcare outcomes using modern methodologies such as TQI and continuous quality improvement. TQM is crucial to delivering high quality healthcare services, achieving satisfactory health outcomes, and fulfilling the primary goal of healthcare ‒ increasing patient satisfaction.
