THE ROLE OF THE FAMILY PHYSICIAN IN THE NEW REGULATIONS FOR EXAMINATION OF PERMANENT DISABILITY

The purpose of the work: to analyze the new regulations for the examination of permanent persons disability with an emphasis on the role of the family physician in its implementation. Materials and methods. Materials: documents regarding the reform of the Medical – social expert commissions and the implementation of assessment of activities of daily living. Methods: content analysis, structural and logical analysis. Results and discussion. According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated November 15, 2024 No. 1338 “Some issues of introduction of assessment of activities of daily living of individuals” from January 1, 2025 instead of the liquidated the Medical – social expert commissions, decisions regarding the establishment of disability, the appointment of rehabilitation aids and other aspects will be made by expert teams for assessment of activities of daily living. The family physician has a leading role in the formation of the patient’s route, as he is the initiator in the referral for assessment of activities of daily living of the person. After all, the quality, speed and result of the evaluation procedure depend to a certain extent on his professionalism and skillful organization of the process. At the initial stage, the patient asks his family doctor to create an electronic referral for evaluation and attaches all the necessary documents electronically. Conclusions: 1. Thanks to the reform of the Medical – social expert commissions and the implementation of assessment of activities of daily living, the patient’s route is simplified and improved when undergoing an examination of permanent disability. The newly created assessment model involves the cooperation among different health care organizations for the sole purpose of supporting people with disabilities or other needs. 2. The family physician occupies an important place in the formation of the patient’s route when referring him to assessment of activities of daily living of the person, especially at the initial stage of this procedure.
