Objective: To show ways to manage professional burnout as a basis for preventing the risk of developing chronic liver disease. Materials and Methods. The study used bibliosemantic, analytical and systematic research methods. Results: The study found that burnout is a human reaction to chronic fatigue. The person begins to have a negative attitude towards work and the subject of his/her professional activity, and self-esteem decreases. This is a defense mechanism of the body that is often not recognized. It occurs when we are stressed at work and cannot cope with it. We do not rest, we accumulate negativity, and in order to cope with it, a person stops feeling. Professional burnout is most common among those who work in the social sector: teachers, psychologists, and doctors. Occupational burnout can have a serious impact on overall public health, including the risk of developing or worsening certain chronic diseases, such as liver disease. Although burnout does not directly cause liver disease, it can contribute to the development of conditions that impair liver function. Conclusions. As a result of the analysis of the studied phenomena, it was found that the most influential factor of professional burnout is high psychological tension, chronic stress and overload. Thus, occupational burnout can indirectly affect the liver through various mechanisms, such as stress, unhealthy lifestyle, and reduced immunity. Chronic stress affects the liver through a complex of biochemical and behavioral changes that include increased levels of stress hormones, oxidative stress, inflammation, impaired fat and glucose metabolism, and unhealthy behavioral responses. This can lead to fat accumulation in the liver, inflammation, insulin resistance, weight gain, and even the progression of fibrosis and the development of cirrhosis, especially if stress continues for a long time.
