IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM “MANAGEMENT IN HEALTH CARE” IN THE IVAN HORBACHEVSKY TERNOPIL NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH OF UKRAINE AND ITS METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS

Purpose: to justify the feasibility of implementing the educational and professional program “Management in Health Care” at Ivan Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, to characterize its main components, to analyze the main thematic blocks in the cycle of general and professional training.
Materials and Methods. A comprehensive study was conducted in order to study the best global and domestic experience of training managers in health care. The research used a mixed approach combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to obtain a comprehensive view of the content and educational goals of the main disciplines in the cycles of general and professional training of students under the “Management in Health Care” program.
Results. The acquired education enables the specialist to work in health care management bodies, institutions and organizations of the health care system and medical insurance, scientific research organizations, public administration bodies and social infrastructure. The educational and professional program is developed on the basis of the study of the best global and domestic experience of training managers in health care. The main disciplines in the cycles of general and professional training of education seekers under the above-mentioned program are characterized. Attention is focused on the content and educational goals of the subject “Healthcare Management”, which studies the main functions of management. Mechanisms, methods and tools for implementing each function are analyzed; approaches to their effective application are investigated.
Conclusions. The uniqueness of the educational and professional program consists in the formation in the students of education of managerial skills and knowledge characteristic of the field of health care – understanding of medical practice, financial management in medical institutions, legal aspects in the field of medicine, as well as specific aspects of high-quality and safe provision of medical services. A characteristic feature of the program is the shift of emphasis to the practical part of training through the implementation of internships in medical institutions and organizations, practical projects and the assimilation of thematic blocks most relevant for the medical business.
