Purpose: activate the passive detection of TB patients by actively carrying out sanitary and educational work among the population.
Materials and Methods. On the basis of questionnaire studies, direct survey of TB patients, people, as well as family doctors, rather weak knowledge about tuberculosis among the mentioned ones was revealed. Repeated errors and shortcomings of the work of the heads of the phthisiatric service and the consequences of this work are shown. The bibliosemantic method and system analysis were used.
Results. The epidemiology of TB is quite complex and unique, with a characteristic cycle. Clinical signs of the disease are quite diverse and non-specific. In recent years, under the influence of dynamic social phenomena, the clinical pathomorphism of TB has been observed, the epidemiology of the disease, the species structure of the pathogen, and the course of the disease have changed significantly. In connection with the significant improvement of the TB situation in the country, there has been some relaxation of vigilance regarding this disease, which has led to certain mistakes, as if all issues regarding tuberculosis have been resolved. During the health care reforms in Ukraine, the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the fight against TB worsened, despite the use of world-class best practices. At the same time, we should not neglect the realities of our lives, first of all, do not forget about prevention, timely detection of tuberculosis, its adequate and full treatment. In this aspect, it is difficult to overestimate the effective sanitary and educational work, primarily of phthisis doctors, among the population and patients.
Conclusions. Incorrect optimization of the anti-tuberculosis service network, the loss of a significant number of experienced phthisiologists, led to significant losses and deterioration of the TB epidemiological situation, in particular, the neglect of sanitary and educational work, and this even during the period of the rampage of HIV/AIDS and COVID-19. The epidemiological situation can be significantly improved by intensifying mass sanitary and educational work at all available levels. At the same time, the main role should be played by phthisiologists, as the main nucleus in the fight against tuberculosis. And this, at the present time, is available and without significant costs. The result will not be delayed, the early detection of the disease will be activated, the results of treatment and peopleʼs health will improve.
