Abstract

Purpose: to analyze the role and tasks of the public health system and the expected results of the development strategy of healthcare system of Ukraine until 2030. Involve the scientific community in the public discussion of The Strategy.

Materials and Methods. Materials: Informational materials on the medico-demographic situation in the country and the state of the national healthcare system, legislation of Ukraine on the development of public health system and the strategy for the development of healthcare system of Ukraine until 2030. Methods: bibliosemantic, content analysis, structural and logical analysis.

Results. In the strategy for the development of healthcare system of Ukraine until 2030, a significant place is assigned to the public health system. Thus, the strategic priorities defined in five thematic areas are all directly or indirectly related to the public health system. For each strategic goal, specific key tasks and expected results are defined according to the specified indicators. The practical public health system of Ukraine faces the task of effectively implementing the specified strategy in the country at all levels of management, from the basic (territorial communities) to the state one.

Conclusions. The role and tasks of the public health system, defined in the strategy for the development of healthcare system of Ukraine until 2030, are strategic and complex. Their implementation in practical healthcare will ensure a reduction in mortality and morbidity rates, as well as an improvement in the functioning and participation of individuals, which leads to an improvement in the health and well-being of the Ukrainian population.
