Abstract

Purpose: to study and analyze the place of Chernihiv region in the oncological profile of the population of Ukraine.

Materials and Methods. Materials: data of the National Cancer Registry and the Cancer Registry of Chernihiv region for the period 2018–2022. Methods: medico-statistical, structural and logical analysis.

Results. Comparison of the indicators of morbidity of the population, including its individual categories, for malignant neoplasms, made it possible to establish a significantly higher level of registered morbidity of the population of Chernihiv region than the average indicators in Ukraine. At the same time, the rates of detection of patients in advanced stages in Chernihiv region are higher (by 13.3 %) than overall in Ukraine, the rates of pre-annual mortality in Chernihiv region are higher by 9.2 %, the mortality rates of the working-age population, respectively, are higher by 8.7 % in Chernihiv region than in Ukraine. In Chernihiv region, the mortality rates of the general population due to malignant neoplasms (by 0.6 %) and, accordingly, the mortality rate of children (by 23.5 %) are lower than the average in Ukraine.

Conclusions. The obtained results indicate a low level of efficiency of specialized oncological care and preventive activities of the health care system of Chernihiv region. This requires a profound analysis of anti-cancer activities in the health care system of the region and optimization of its activities.
