Abstract

Purpose: to establish the relationship between metabolic disorders and the main parameters of the reproductive profile of women with endocrine factor infertility and PCOS based on our own data and the results of domestic and foreign scientists.

Materials and Methods. A retrospective analysis and comparison of medical data from 52 outpatient records of patients with endocrine infertility was performed. A number of the obtained indicators were compared with the results of other researchers.

Results. The results of our own retrospective analysis revealed a number of patterns that in many aspects explain the negative impact of obesity on the reproductive profile of women with PCOS, which also correlates with the data of various authors.Given that PCOS is often associated with obesity, and obesity accelerates the development of the main manifestations of the syndrome, many authors believe that a number of effects caused by obesity on menstrual irregularities can be manifested through anovulation and PCOS. Oligomenorrhea as a symptom is characteristic of PCOS and is seen in metabolic disorders. The concomitant pathology of the studied women was characterized by a spectrum of various endocrinopathies and metabolic disorders. The progression of hyperinsulinemia in such patients can lead to impaired follicular maturation, which reduces the likelihood of ovulation, onset and gestation of pregnancy even in induced cycles.

Conclusions. Reproductive failures with ART techniques in women with PCOS-associated obesity may be associated with identified metabolic profile disorders, the timely correction of which potentially increases the success of infertility treatment. Therefore, an integrated approach and a separate diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm are needed depending on the reproductive plans of women with PCOS.
