Purpose: analysis of the work of Mental Health Center on the basis of the outpatient polyclinic center of CNE “First Territorial Medical Union of Lviv”.
Materials and Methods. An analysis of the work of the Mental Health Center on the basis of the outpatient polyclinic center of the First Territorial Medical Union of the St. Panteleimon Hospital of Lviv for the period from May 2022 to December 2023 was performed. A structural-logical method was used in compliance with the principles of systematicity and statistical method.
Results. The Mental Health Center is an important part of the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center and consists of 12 psychotherapy rooms and a group therapy room. Today 47 specialists work in the Mental Health Center according to the staff list of the hospital. Each of the specialists works in a certain direction of psychotherapy: psychoanalysis, Gestalt therapy, various types of cognitive-behavioral therapy, in particular prolonged exposure therapy, EMDR therapy, body therapy, art therapy. Joint examinations of primary patients, consultations, clinical analyzes of complex cases, group and individual examinations and supervision are a mandatory condition of the treatment process. During the studied period, 2.187 patients applied to the Mental Health Center, who underwent 3.368 consultations. The vast majority of patients are military personnel, their families, or IDPs. Modern approaches to the psychotherapeutic treatment of trauma-related mental disorders have been implemented by the specialists of the Mental Health Center. The center uses: the KUTZ protocol and other EMDR protocols, prolonged exposure therapy, body-oriented therapy; a number of modern instrumental treatment methods, namely the Shift Wave vibrating chair for restoring sympathetic-parasympathetic balance, transcranial magnetic stimulation and neurofeedback.
Conclusions. The integration of Metal Health Centers into the structure of hospitals of different levels, outpatient polyclinic institutions will increase the probability of early detection of mental disorders in patients with psychosomatic symptoms and will contribute to reducing stigmatization. Other potential advantages of such a Center are the provision of services at the local level, the coverage by these services of those categories of the population that previously did not have access to psychiatric care, and the possibility of receiving moral and financial support by the patient from relatives and friends during the treatment process, and will also allow to compensate to a greater extent for the problem of professional psychological help for Ukrainians in need as a result of the war.
