Abstract

Purpose: to evaluate the expediency of implementing the developed optimized system of providing oncology care in Ukraine through its expert evaluation.

Materials and Methods. 35 experts were involved in the expert evaluation of the usability of an optimized oncology care system in Ukraine, including 18 heads of oncology healthcare facilities and 17 scientific and pedagogical workers. When completing the questionnaire, experts had to agree or disagree with the proposed answers to the questions (“no” – 0 or “yes” – 1 or mark a point from 1 to 10, where 1 point is “strongly disagree”, 10 points – “strongly agree”).

Results. The analysis of the obtained expert evaluation results showed that the average score regarding the importance of implementing the system in the proposed parameters (1–10 points) was (9.74±0.51) points. Experts highly rated the consideration level of the difficulties in providing medical care to the population of Ukraine in emergencies (the COVID-19 pandemic, martial law) by the proposed optimized system: (9.49±0.82) points on average. Among the expected changes after the implementation of this system, almost all experts identified an increase in the ability of oncology facilities to provide medical care and the possibility of application of modern diagnostic and treatment approaches ((94.29±3.92) % each).

Conclusions. The expert evaluation showed the expediency of introducing an optimized system of providing oncology care in Ukraine into practical health care. According to experts, its implementation will significantly improve the quality of medical care for cancer patients, reduce cancer incidence, and increase the survival rate of cancer patients.
