Purpose: to find out the specifics of providing insurance protection against the Сovid-19 virus.
Mаterіаls аnd methods. Scientific articles of domestic scientists and electronic resources became the research materials. The methods of analysis, structuring, graphical presentation of results and generalization of information were used during the implementation of this research.
Results. Іn the economic life of any country, one of the leading places is occupied by insurance companies. The main function of insurance includes the protection of both legal entities and individuals against losses that may occur in the event of insured events. The world economy is a priori not stable, as cycles of economic booms and crises always alternate, in connection with which new risks and threats appear, which give rise to the emergence of new protection mechanisms and technologies. The Covid-19 pandemic, which struck the world at the beginning of 2020, became a real challenge for the whole world, causing many threats to both the economies of states and people. Having conducted a detailed study of the situation with Сovid-19, insurance companies adjusted their activities to such conditions, making insurance payments to the victims, fixing direct and indirect costs, and also forecasting the situation in the future.
Conclusіons. On the basis this conducted research, it was found that under the conditions of the pandemic, new conditions for conducting activities were created for the Ukrainian insurance market, which both create opportunities and become the causes of threats. New insurance programs were quickly developed by Ukrainian insurance companies to provide medical insurance, which provides financial support in case of illness from Сovid-19 or complications from vaccination.
