Purpose: to substantiate the need to provide special psychological assistance to families who are raising children in remission of oncological diseases at the stage of sanatorium rehabilitation.
Materials and Methods. Bibliometric, psychological tests, statistical (method of variation statistics for mean values - Student’s coefficient, non-parametric Pearson χ2 test), analytical. In psychological testing, we used the definition of levels of anxiety (Taylor scale), the form and degree of aggression in behavior (Bass-Darki questionnaire), attitude to the child’s illness, assessment of parental attitude.
Results. Analysis of the literature data confirmed the relevance of the chosen research goal in the context of the urgent need to provide psychological correction to children after suffering from oncological disease, and their mothers. The research is based on an individual approach to the patient and his family members, aimed at psychological support or correction of negative manifestations, increasing the child’s social activity and leveling tension in interpersonal relationships. In this regard, the technique of differential psychological support of sick children was used, taking into account the manifestations of anxiety and types of aggression, which contributes to the improvement of social adaptation, psychoemotional status, and relationships in the team. It was found that psychological assistance to mothers raising children after treatment with oncological disease contributes to a significant decrease in the manifestations of personal and reactive anxiety.
Conclusions. A differentiated approach to psychological support for sick children and psychological assistance to their mothers allows for effective correction of their psychoemotional sphere.
