DIRECTIONS AND FORMS OF PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM ACTIVITY IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CEREBROVASCULAR DISEASES IN THE MEGAPOLIS

Purpose: to develop and present the directions and forms of public health system activity in the fight against cerebrovascular diseases in the megapolis.
Materials and Methods. The following methods were applied in the course of research: bibliosemantic, of structural-and-logical analysis, of descriptive modeling. The directions of the public health system activities in the fight against cerebrovascular diseases were established by the method of expert evaluation. 25 qualified specialists worked as the experts. Systematic approach composed the methodological base of the study.
Results. The expert way established directions and forms of public health system activity in the fight against cerebrovascular diseases. Informational and educational comprehensive work on the issues of prevention and consequences of cerebrovascular diseases and cerebral strokes at the community level, organized groups and families received the highest assessment of experts, and the individual informational-and-educational work received the lowest level of evaluation. The experts supported the necessity for epidemiological supervision of risks of cerebrovascular diseases and cerebral strokes, advocacy for the formation of health profile in the city, communications and social mobilization in the interests of preserving and strengthening the health of the population of the city. The results obtained served as the basis for the development of a model of informational-and-communication work of the public health system to combat cerebrovascular diseases.
Conclusions. The use of the proposed directions and forms of public health system activity in the fight against cerebrovascular diseases in the megapolis will reduce the morbidity and mortality rate of the population due to cerebrovascular diseases and cerebral strokes.
