Purpose: to analyze and evaluate the application of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health Limitations (ICF) in the rehabilitation process.
Materials and methods. The research is based on the analysis of specialized literature and documents.
Results. ICF aims to help determine the purpose and objectives of physical therapy, evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation, so the application of this classification will not only describe the disorders and limitations that occur in humans due to any disease, trauma or pathological condition, but also to draw up a rehabilitation program to evaluate its effectiveness during application of rehabilitation measures.
Conclusions. The use of ICF in clinical practice in rehabilitation helps to formulate a rehabilitation diagnosis and is intended to help determine the purpose and objectives of physical therapy, evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation. For the widespread use of ICF in clinical practice and for the improvement of rehabilitation management, it is necessary to develop information systems and implement them in the rehabilitation process.
