MODERN TRENDS, DETERMINANTS AND PROSPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT OF MEDICAL AND HEALTH-IMPROVEMENT TOURISM IN UKRAINE

Purpose: to analyse the current state, the main trends and features of tourism infrastructure functioning, to study determinants, prospects for the development of medical, health-improving spa- and wellness-tourism in the world.
Materials and Methods. Bibliosemantic, structural-logical, mathematical-statistical and analytical methods were used in the research.
Results. Medical and health-improving spa- and wellness-tourism are in the stage of active rapid development. Spa- and wellness-tourism became an integral part of population life in most countries around the world. The client (patient) choosing medical, health-improving spa- and wellness-tourism can at the same time relax, be comprehensively examined and receive treatment, rejuvenate and improve appearance. Medical and health-improving spa and wellness tourism has such great potential that it now stands out in an independent segment of the tourist market with a wide range of investment opportunities: from large-scale hotel projects adjacent to the clinics and located within the city, to existing ones specialized complexes with some modifications in the structure of services.
Conclusions. Medical health-improving spa- and wellness-tourism are the most promising types of tourism in the world, actively evolving under the influence of political and economic factors that are caused by the transformational processes taking place in the world.
