Purpose: to study the opinion of the patients with epidermal dysplasia of the skin (EDS) regarding the importance and degree of satisfaction with a specialized medical care.
Materials and Methods. An anonymous questionnaire was developed and 283 patients were interviewed who received specialized medical care at the “State and Practical Centre of Preventive and Clinical Medicine” of the Scientific Institution “Scientific State Administration of the Affairs according to the Local Protocols of the Medical Assistance Statistical processing of the study materials was made using biometric analysis methoods, implemented in SPSS 10.0, EXCEL-2000 programmes packs. Statistical differences were estimated using χ2, Student’s t test.
Results. The analysis of the components of the specialized health care showed that almost all respondents (62.5 – 88 %) emphasize the importance of the all without exception components with high level of satisfaction (68.2 – 92.2 %). Significant differences between the degree of importance and the level of satisfaction were found only in the comparative analysis of the components “Provision of information on preventive measures in the future” and “Organization of the treatment process” (p = 0.001). All components of the evaluation were in the segment “Successful results”.
Conclusions. The components of the medical care (work of medical staff, organization of the medical-diagnostic process, social conditions, patient awareness) from the point of view of the patients with EDS are important components of the specialized medical care.
