It is known that human health depends to a large extent on the quality of the water the person consumes.
Рurpose: to analyze some indicators of the morbidity of the population on the western regions of Ukraine, which are located in the basin of the Dniester River.
Materials and Methods. In the course of the research, data from the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine for 2015 are used. The method of research is the statistical method.
Results and Discussion. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the general morbidity is highest in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. The incidence of infectious and parasitic diseases prevails in the Chernivtsi region. The number of tumors most registered in the Lviv region. Extremely common for the population of the Western regions are blood diseases, hematopoietic organs and certain disorders with the involvement of the immune mechanism. For the first time cases of diseases of the digestive system, they are characteristic of Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi and Lviv regions.
Conclusions. In the western regions of Ukraine in the first place according to the number of the first cases of diseases of the population by classes of illnesses is Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, in which four out of five classes of diseases considerably exceed the average in Ukraine. The reason for this may be the low quality of drinking water consumed by the population of the region. This is the only region in the western region of Ukraine where a large number of people consume water from surface sources, the quality of which can be influenced by industrial enterprises of chemical, energy, oil and gas, woodworking and other industries.
