ackground. The new regulation of the system of continuous professional development (CPD) or continues medical education (CME) in the field of health care with innovations and implementation of the electronic system was introduced from 01.01.2022, that caused both positive and negative aspects. The aim is to analyze the results of the introduction of the electronic system and innovations of CPD in Ukraine in 2022.
Materials and methods. Bibliosemantic method, systemic analysis, SWOT analysis, analysis of own experience.
Results. The analysis of the innovations of the CPD system in the state in 2022 made it possible to ascertain a number of strengths and weaknesses of the introduced changes, to identify important threats, among which the main ones are the imperfection of the innovations and the electronic CPD system, complicated search in the system, poor data protection, the need to pay for the services of introducing the CPD measure to the electronic system by providers, unequal initial requirements for providers with different forms of organization and ownership, different requirements regarding the legalization of educational activities by providers, lack of state funding for doctors to obtain the mandatory 50 annual CME credits, lack of strategic planning and analysis of the need for CPD of medical and pharmaceutical workers from important areas of health care.
Conclusions. Introduced innovations and electronic CPD system require improvement, ensuring proper functioning and data protection. In the future, it is important to preserve the national experience of more than 150 years of high-quality CPD with state strategic planning and control to ensure the solution of priority issues of the health care system. Moving to foreign experience and European integration, it is necessary to provide providers with various forms of organization and financing fair and equal conditions of existence in the market of educational services, to create clear requirements for ensuring the quality of CPD and/or gradation of providers according to the level of education quality and compliance with requirements, to create a national Accreditation Council for CME, quality monitoring, which would have the possibility of integrating the national CPD system with the European and American systems for the possibility of mutual crediting of points/credits.
