Abstract

Summary. The use of Wolfram|Alpha has shown the importance of modern technologies for the formation of skills and abilities of future medical staff. The article deals with advantages and disadvantages of using Wolfram|Alpha while forming mathematical competence of future doctor of philosophy.

The aim of the study – to consider scientific approaches to the use of new technologies in the form of Wolfram|Alpha in the formation of subject mathematical competence of future physicians.

Materials and Methods. Own systems of computer modeling of pharmacokinetic processes with the use of "Internet programming" technologies have been developed. Today it is possible to use specialized software. The most appropriate is the use of CAM (Computer Aided Modeling). One of the most common and powerful tools of CAM is Mathematica. However, using Mathematica requires a computer class, which makes it even more difficult to use. The modern student must be able to work anywhere and anytime. This condition can be met when using cell phones with an Internet connection. A new resource for mathematics-oriented search web-service - Wolfram|Alpha.

Results. The use of the course "Modern information technology in research" in the teaching process contributes to the formation of skills and abilities in the computer environment, creating and studying mathematical models of various phenomena and processes, demonstrating the use of mathematical methods and their research. The article considers the advantages and disadvantages of using Wolfram|Alpha in the formation of subject mathematical competence of future doctors of philosophy in the specialty 223 "Nursing".

Conclusions. Given these advantages and disadvantages, we believe that the use of Wolfram|Alpha in the study of modern information technology in scientific activities by PhD 223 "Nursing" is justified and allows scientists to gain a number of skills with further application in practice, namely, correctly formulate an applied problem, translate this problem into the language of mathematics, solve it with the help of an appropriate software package and interpret the result of its solution to the real situation.
