SUMMARY. Emergency medical care is a key component of the healthcare system, the effectiveness of which is determined by organizational, personnel, and regulatory factors, as well as the professional training of personnel of various types of teams. A differentiated approach to the activities of feldsher, physician-led, and paramedic teams, taking into account the urgency of calls and territorial and demographic characteristics, significantly affects the quality and results of care provision.
The aim – to conduct a comparative analysis of the work of different types of emergency medical teams (physician-led, feldsher, and paramedic) based at the Halych Emergency Medical Station in January 2025.
Material and Methods. The research materials included organizational and structural data of the emergency medical service, information about the service area, the number and types of emergency medical teams, as well as the territorial features of the serviced area. The study used a set of general scientific, statistical, and medical-organizational methods: methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, and generalization to evaluate the performance indicators of emergency medical service personnel.
Results. Emergency medical care in the service area of the Halych Emergency Medical Station is characterized by a predominance of calls related to cardiovascular diseases and suspected acute cerebrovascular accidents, indicating a high level of cardiovascular problems among the population and the need for timely control of chronic conditions and the implementation of clear “stroke care” routes. A significant proportion of calls also involve injuries, digestive disorders, and alcohol intoxication caused by social and behavioral factors, with calls predominantly coming from rural areas and among the elderly, which complicates logistics and requires resource adaptation. It has been established that physician-led and feldsher teams are mainly involved in critical cases, while paramedics ensure the availability of assistance in less urgent and remote situations, which confirms the expediency of a differentiated organization of the emergency medical service.
Conclusions. The results of the study confirm the high burden of chronic cardiovascular disease among the population. A significant proportion of cases come from rural areas and among the elderly, which necessitates the adaptation of logistics and resource provision for emergency medical care. The differentiated distribution of functions between types of teams confirms the advisability of specialization to improve response efficiency and patient safety.
