Abstract

Introduction. The article explores the theoretical and applied aspects of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the training of future nurses. The relevance of the work lies in the rapid digitalization of healthcare and the need to modernize educational programs to develop new professional competencies in students. The purpose of the study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of modern directions of AI application in nursing education, identifying its advantages, challenges, and strategic prospects.

The aim of the study – to conduct a comprehensive analysis of modern directions in the application of artificial intelligence in nursing education, to identify its potential advantages and challenges, and to substantiate the prospects for improving the training of future nurses in the context of the digitalization of the healthcare system.

The main part. It was found that the most promising areas of AI application in nursing education are personalized learning, adaptive educational trajectories, generative chatbots, virtual patients, robotic simulators, virtual and augmented reality technologies, automated assessment, predictive analytics, and analysis of educational data. The use of these technologies contributes to the development of clinical thinking, decision-making skills, professional communication, digital literacy, and students’ readiness for clinical practice. At the same time, the main challenges of implementing AI were identified, in particular, confidentiality and data security, algorithmic bias, academic integrity, ethical aspects of the use of digital technologies, and insufficient readiness of teachers and students for their effective application. It is emphasized that artificial intelligence should complement, not replace, the teacher, and its implementation should be carried out while preserving the humanistic values of the nursing profession - empathy, moral responsibility and a patient-centred approach.

Conclusions. The integration of artificial intelligence is a strategic direction for modernizing nursing education and an important condition for training competitive, technologically literate, and empathy-oriented specialists.
