Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted for publication must be written in Ukrainian or English, featuring original research findings as well as key scientific challenges and research outcomes in the fields of nursing and medicine. The scholarly and practical journal is published quarterly (four times a year).
The author guidelines are detailed below:

Submission Preparation Checklist

  • AUTHOR GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
    Editorial Requirements for Manuscript Structure, Formatting, and Submission Package
    Manuscripts submitted for publication must be written in Ukrainian or English, presenting original research findings as well as discussions of key scientific challenges and research outcomes in the fields of nursing and medicine. The scholarly and practical journal is published quarterly (four issues per year).
    FILE 1. TITLE PAGE
    The title page must include author details and metadata in both Ukrainian and English, along with essential statements: Authors’ Contributions, Conflict of Interest, Declaration on the Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies, Adherence to Bioethical Principles, Sources of Funding, and Acknowledgements (if applicable).
    1.1. Author Information
    For each co-author, please provide:
    • Full name (first name and surname in full, in Ukrainian and English).
    • Academic degree and academic title.
    • Position, full official name of the affiliated institution (workplace/study), city, and country (in Ukrainian and English).
    • ORCID iD (mandatory, formatted as: https://orcid.org/xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx).
    • Email address for correspondence.
    • Contact telephone number.
    • Indication of the corresponding author.
    1.2. Manuscript Metadata:
    • Article title (in Ukrainian and English).
    • Field of science, specialty, and UDC index.
    1.3. Authors’ Contributions
    A concise description detailing the specific role of each co-author according to the CRediT taxonomy (conceptualization, methodology/study design, data curation, formal analysis, investigation, writing – original draft, writing – review and editing, supervision, final approval, etc.).
    1.4. Conflict of Interest
    An explicit statement declaring the presence or absence of any financial, personal, or other professional relationships that could inappropriately influence or bias the reported findings. If a conflict of interest exists, it must be described. (More details HERE)
    1.5. Declaration on the Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies
    A declaration disclosing the use of generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Grammarly, etc.) at any stage of manuscript preparation, specifying the tool used, along with the purpose and scope of its application (e.g., translation assistance, style editing, data analysis), or an explicit statement affirming that no AI technologies were utilized.     1.6. Adherence to Bioethical Principles
    For studies involving human participants or animals, provide confirmation of approval by an institutional bioethics committee/institutional review board (including the name of the institution, protocol number, and approval date), as well as written informed consent statements from participants. If the study is exempt from bioethical oversight, provide an explicit justification statement. (More details HERE)
    1.7. Sources of Funding
    Identification of any grants, funding programs, institutions, or organizations that supported the study, including relevant grant/project numbers, or an explicit statement declaring that the study received no external funding. (More details HERE)
    1.8. Acknowledgements (if applicable)
    Formal acknowledgement of individuals or institutions that contributed consultative, technical, or material assistance but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
    FILE 2. MANUSCRIPT TEXT
    Submissions must be strictly anonymized—free of author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or identifying details in the main text or document file metadata.
    2.1. Manuscript Metadata:
    • Article title (in Ukrainian and English).
    • Field of science, specialty, and UDC index.
    2.2. Abstract and Keywords (in Ukrainian and English):
    • Structured abstract in Ukrainian (250–300 words): Мета дослідження, Матеріали і методи, Результати, Висновки.
    • Structured abstract in English (250–300 words): The aim of the study, Materials and methods, Results, Conclusions.
    • Keywords: 5–8 terms/phrases in Ukrainian and English.
    2.3. Main Text Structure
    Recommended manuscript structure according to the IMRAD standard:
    • Introduction (problem formulation, relevance, literature review of recent studies)
    • The aim of the study
    • Materials and methods
    • Results
    • Discussion
    • Conclusions
    • Prospects for further research (if applicable)
    2.4. References
    • The bibliography must be formatted under the heading REFERENCES in accordance with international Vancouver style rules, cited sequentially in the text in numerical order of appearance (style details: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html).
    • At least 50% of the cited literature should consist of publications from the past 5 years.
    • Preference should be given to peer-reviewed sources indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, complete with active DOI hyperlinks.
    2.5. Additional Elements (if applicable)
    • Reference tables and figures in the text sequentially in the order of their appearance.
    • Tables must feature concise, informative titles. Duplicating the same data across both tables and figures is not permitted.
    • All graphic elements (photographs, diagrams, charts, schematics, graphs) must be designated as figures.
    • Charts, graphs, and mathematical formulas should be generated natively in Microsoft Word to allow editorial formatting.
    • Photographs, ultrasound images, and high-resolution line art must be scanned at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and saved in TIFF or JPEG format.
    • Labels, symbols, and legends within figures must remain legible when scaled to journal column width.
    • Explicit credit and permissions must accompany any previously published or adapted figures and tables.
    Submission Procedures and Editorial Policy
    Files must be submitted simultaneously via the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform (https://ojs.tdmu.edu.ua). Files must follow the standardized naming convention incorporating the primary author's surname:
    • Surname_Title.docx
    • Surname_Article.docx
    Manuscripts submitted with structural deficiencies or missing mandatory components (ORCID iDs, institutional emails, Authors' Contributions, Conflict of Interest, AI Disclosure, Bioethics Statements, Funding Sources) will be returned without peer review.
    The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject submissions without full peer review if the manuscript:
    • Fails to meet academic writing and styling standards;
    • Lacks scientific novelty or practical relevance;
    • Falls outside the journal’s aims and scope;
    • Contains unedited text with significant grammatical or stylistic errors;
    • Violates research publication ethics (including detected plagiarism).
    Manuscripts are approved for publication only after passing comprehensive plagiarism screening and double-blind peer review by independent experts. Publication is subject to an article processing charge (APC).
    Upon publication, open-access electronic versions of all articles are hosted on the journal platform at https://ojs.tdmu.edu.ua. The editorial staff reserves the right to copyedit, condense, and format accepted manuscripts. Authors bear sole responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of their citations and reference data.
