The article actualizes the problem of modernizing the correctional and developmental work of a speech therapist in the contemporary educational environment and substantiates the expediency of introducing innovative approaches to its organization. It is noted that the steady growth in the number of children with speech disorders, the spread of severe and combined forms of speech dysontogenesis, and the expansion of inclusive practice impose new requirements on the content, methods, and forms of speech therapy intervention. The purpose of the publication is the theoretical substantiation and systematization of innovative approaches to organizing the correctional and developmental work of a speech therapist with children of preschool and primary school age. The leading directions for renewing speech therapy practice are characterized: digital and information-communication technologies, computer-based correctional programs, and elements of telepractice; biofeedback technologies; art-therapeutic methods (fairy-tale therapy, art therapy, music therapy, and sand therapy); sensoryintegration and kinesiology techniques; game-based and gamified formats; health-preserving technologies. Particular attention is paid to interdisciplinary team support for the child and to the partnership between the speech therapist and the family as a condition for the sustainability of correctional results. It is proved that innovative approaches should be applied not in opposition to traditional ones, but in organic combination with them, on the principles of individualization, systematicity, and differentiation. The organizational and pedagogical conditions for the effective implementation of innovations and the risks of their formal use are outlined. It is concluded that the purposeful and methodically sound application of innovative technologies increases children’s motivation, intensifies the correctional process, and contributes to achieving the maximum possible results in overcoming speech disorders.
