Abstract

The aim of this study was to provide a preclinical justification for the effectiveness of the developed therapeutic and preventive complex in influencing bone tissue remodeling under experimental osteoporosis. Materials and Methods. The experiment was conducted on 20 rabbits with induced glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis. The animals were divided into four groups depending on the therapy applied: no treatment (control), treatment with “OsteoPro,” “Vitrum Osteomag,” and their combination. Morphological evaluation of bone tissue was performed using histological methods three months after implantation.
Results. In the control group, a predominance of connective tissue regenerate and signs of incomplete osteogenesis were observed. The use of “OsteoPro” resulted in activation of cellular elements of bone tissue; however, osteoporotic changes persisted. In the “Vitrum Osteomag” group, structural immaturity of bone with features of cartilage-like tissue was noted. The best results were obtained with combined therapy (“OsteoPro” + “Vitrum Osteomag”), which demonstrated improved organization of collagen fibers, neoangiogenesis, and the formation of conditions favorable for effective osseointegration of implants.
Conclusions. Thus, the combined use of the studied agents contributes to a more complete restoration of bone tissue structure in osteoporosis and improves the quality of reparative osteogenesis.
