Introduction. Yarrow belongs to perennial herbaceous plants of the Asteraceae family. This plant is used in folk medicine as a hemostatic, wound-healing and analgesic. It is used for gastric ulcer, pulmonary tuberculosis, hemorrhoids, uterine bleeding, toothache, as well as for healing wounds and ulcers. The main components of A. ptarmica are flavonoids, essential oils and alkylamines (in particular, isobutylamides of unsaturated fatty acids). These compounds determine the anti-inflammatory, anesthetic and antispasmodic properties of the plant. Since in the literature sources available to us we did not find information on the content of primary synthesis compounds – namely, carbohydrates in yarrow flowers, it was relevant to investigate the hydrocarbon composition of this plant. The purpose of the study is to determine the qualitative composition and quantitative content of hydrocarbon compounds in the flowers of Achillea ptarmica L. variety Perlyna. Research methods. The material for the research was the flowers of a cultivated plant – Achillea ptarmica L. variety Perlyna, which were harvested during the mass flowering period in June-July 2025 in the Ternopil region. The component composition and quantitative content of hydrocarbons were determined by gravimetric and GC/ MS methods. Results and discussion. The results of the conducted studies show that in the flowers of Achillea ptarmica L. variety Perlyna the content of pectin substances was (3.75 ± 0.02) %, and the content of water-soluble polysaccharides was (5.14 ± 0.03) %. The composition of sugars in the flowers of this plant is characterized by the predominance in the quantitative ratio of monosaccharides glucose (47.31 mg/g), xylose (36.31 mg/g), galactose (24.06 mg/g), disaccharide sucrose (3.98 mg/g), and inositol (2.17 mg/g). Conclusions. The content of water-soluble polysaccharides and pectin substances in the flowers of Achillea ptarmica L. was determined by the gravimetric method. The quantitative content and component composition of polysaccharides were determined by the GC/MS method. The results obtained indicate that the studied species is promising for further pharmacognostic and pharmacological studies.
