Анотація

Мета: дослідити та проаналізувати особливості клінічного перебігу і посмертної діагностики феохромоцитоми у 34-го президента США Дуайт Девід Ейзенхауера (Dwight David Eisenhower). Матеріали та методи: монографії, фрагменти періодичних видань, довідки та звіти, які оброблено за допомогою бібліосемантичного, описового, а також історичного методів оброблення даних. Результати. Існує величезний обсяг інформації про різні хвороби президента. У нього були серйозні проблеми зі здоров’ям у вигляді тяжких кардіоваскулярних порушень. Є дані , що за життя він переніс 7 інфарктів міокарда. Крім кардіальної та цереброваскулярної патологій, у Д. Ейзенхауера був ще ряд соматичних захворювань які ліковані хірургічно: зокрема калькульозний хлецистит, хвороба Крона з кишковою непрохідністю, гіпертрофія передміхурової залози. Під час аутопсії лікарі та патологи окрім змін в організмі, зумовлених наявними захворюваннями виявили у лівій наднирковій залозі не діагностовану за життя пухлину – феохромоцитому діаметром 15 мм. Висновки. Сучасні знання про цю пухлину, особливості її клінічного перебігу дають підстави вважати, що саме вона була причиною прогресуючої кардіоваскулярної і цереброваскулярної патологій, які привели до завершення життєвого шляху.
