Purpose: to study the problems of access of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) to medical care, in particular specialized ophthalmological care. Materials and methods. A systemic approach, bibliosemantic method, content analysis, and structural-log- ical analysis of scientific sources on healthcare accessibility for refugees and IDPs were applied. The systemic approach was used to analyze identified systemic problems in access to specialized care, including ophthalmologi- cal services, for IDPs and refugees. The bibliosemantic method was employed to study domestic and international experience and scientific approaches to addressing the problem. Structural-logical and content analysis methods were used to examine the content of literature sources regarding the outcomes of implemented organizational approaches and measures aimed at providing specialized medical care to IDPs and refugees, particularly in improv- ing access to ophthalmological care and implementing modern preventive strategies for preserving eye health. Results. The paper presents the experience of different countries in studying and overcoming barriers to access- ing specialized medical care, including ophthalmological services, in the context of the growing number of forcibly displaced persons and refugees. Selected ophthalmological conditions are highlighted, the increasing prevalence of which has led to the implementation of screening strategies and modern organizational approaches, contributing to improved access to medical care for this population group. Conclusions. Ensuring access to ophthalmological care for IDPs requires the implementation of flexible organi- zational models focused on early diagnosis, prevention, and interdisciplinary coordination. Priority should be given to the development of screening programs and modern medical technologies that improve clinical outcomes while optimizing costs.
