Abstract

Despite the visible success in the treatment of parodontium diseases existing nowadays, the problem of therapy and prevention of generalized parodontitis remains unsolved.

The aim of the study – was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of the developed complex therapy of generalized parodontitis (GP) of I–II severity degree of chronic course in patients on the background of toxocariasis.

Materials and Methods. 90 patients with GP of I-II severity of chronic course against the background of toxocariasis were studied: the main group consisted of 30 patients – GP of I degree of severity and 60 patients – GP of II degree of severity. The comparison group included 30 patients with GP I degree and 60 patients with II degree of severity of GP on the background of toxocariasis.

Treatment of patients of the main group was performed with the help of developed therapy, which was carried out in 2 stages, and in the comparison group patients with GP I and II severity were treated with traditional treatment.

Results and Discussions. The analysis of the results of the research, which concerned the detection of the frequency of clinical signs of generalized I degree parodontitis of chronic course against the background of the transferred toxocariasis and the dynamics of the individual periodontal parameters and their combination at the end of the course of therapy at various times of observation has proved that the developed scheme of treatment of patients with GP has significant advantages. This treatment is more effective and in a short time than traditional, optimizes the periodontal status of the patient, contributes to the prolongation of clinical remission, slows the progression of the disease.

These regularities of the positive dynamics of periodontal conditions in patients with generalized parodontitis of chronic course persist even at the second degree of severity of the disease due to the use of the proposed treatment regimen.
