Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Requirements for preparing and submitting a manuscript

 

 

Manuscripts in Ukrainian or English are accepted for consideration. Authors are academically responsible for violations of academic integrity. All authors must sign the first page of the publication.

The cost of publishing services is reimbursed by the authors or their sponsors. The journal does not charge additional fees for submitting materials and reviewing.

The manuscript should be accompanied by the following materials sent in *.pdf format, scanned with a resolution of at least 150 dpi 1) a sealed expert opinion on the possibility of open publication of the research materials; 2) an agreement on the absence of a conflict of interest; 3) a certificate of plagiarism check. In the absence of these documents, the authors are solely responsible for the information provided.

Articles containing original research materials should be structured and formatted in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

At the beginning of the article it is stated:

UDC is in the upper left corner.

In Ukrainian and English:

- title of the article (centre, bold, size 14). No abbreviations are allowed in the title of the article;

- Initials and surname(s) of the author(s) (right margin);

- full name of the institution (in italics);

- abstract in Ukrainian: up to 500 words;

- an extended structured abstract of the article in English up to 1800 characters, containing the following sections: Background, Materials and methods, Results, Conclusions;

- keywords: up to eight words.

 

ORCID (https://orcid.org/) of each author.

The main body of the article contains the following sections: Introduction (statement of the problem in general, its connection with important scientific or practical tasks, analysis of the latest published studies that have begun to solve this problem, highlighting the unresolved part of the general problem to which the work is devoted). The purpose of the study or the aim of the article (for theoretical papers). Material and methods of the study (describe the object of the study and methods, the description of which should be sufficient to understand their feasibility and reproducibility; if the study was randomised, the principle of randomisation should be indicated; software packages (year, version) should be indicated separately; reference to the number and title of the research project or grant should be provided; the recommended length of the section is 250-500 words). Results and their discussion (the main material of the study with full justification of the scientific results obtained). Conclusions from this study and Prospects for further ways to solve the problem.

All units of physical quantities should be given in accordance with the International System of Units (SI). Units of physical quantities; in case of justified use of non-system units of measurement, an example of their conversion to the SI system should be provided. Medical terminology should be in accordance with the International Classification of Diseases (10th and 11th revisions). The names of companies, devices, reagents, and active substances of medicinal products should be given in the original transcription in accordance with the requirements of the legislation in force in Ukraine.

The text is printed at 1.5 intervals without hyphens, Times New Roman font, size 14. Acceptable text file formats: Microsoft (MS) Word (rtf, doc, docx). One page of text corresponds to 250 words or 1800 printed characters without spaces. Paragraph indentation - 1.25 cm using the "paragraph" menu; margins on all sides - 2.5 cm without headers and page numbering.

The text is typed in one column. In the middle of a sentence, use a medium dash "-" with spaces. Use a middle dash without spaces between numbers (example: 2021-2022). The long dash "-" is not used in scientific articles.

A number is separated from a percentage by a non-breaking space using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + Space (space)).

In the English version of the manuscript, the integer part of the number is separated from the fractional part by a period (example: 1.25).

Spaces are not placed between: + (1+1); / (mg/kg); = (n=27); > and < (p<0.05), ≥, ± and other mathematical signs.

Average values are given in the form M ± m, where M is the arithmetic mean, m is the standard error of the mean.

Subheadings should be printed in capital letters and bold.

Abbreviations and acronyms should be given for the first time in the introduction or materials and methods and contain the full name.

References to the literature in the text are given by numbers in square brackets in ascending order, separated by commas and a space between sources (example: [1, 4, 7-10]).

References to literary sources are arranged in two lists sequentially. The first one is the List of References, which is prepared in accordance with the national standard DSTU 8302:2015. Bibliographic references: general provisions and rules of compilation.

The second list is References. Papers in Ukrainian should be transliterated in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On the Regulation of Transliteration of the Ukrainian Alphabet into Latin" of 27 January 2010, No. 55 as amended. Works in other languages that are referenced should be translated into English in accordance with the British Standards Institution (BSI) system. The translated title of the work should be followed by the English translation in square brackets. The name of the scientific journal in the transliterated list of references must coincide with the transliterated name of the journal registered for its inclusion in international databases. Papers in the list provided in Latin should be presented in accordance with the following requirements APA (American Psychological Association, https://www.apastyle.org/).

Figures - up to 8 cm wide or 16 cm wide each, are submitted in the text and in separate files with the figure number and caption. Figures are numbered in the order of their appearance in the text. The thickness of the axis on the graphs should be 0.5 pt, the thickness of the curve - 1.0 pt. Units of measurement on the axes of the graphs should be indicated after the decimal point (not in parentheses). Figures should be of high quality, the size of axis labels and scale should be 10 pt at the above figure sizes. Acceptable graphic formats for figures: TIF, JPEG. Figures created with the help of software for mathematical and statistical calculations should be converted to one of these formats.

Tables should have short titles and their own numbering. Reproduction of the same material in the form of tables and figures is not allowed.

Diagrams and graphs should preferably be created in Microsoft Excel.

Equations must be typed in the MS Equation Editor, which is part of the MS Word text editor.

Only high-quality illustrations are accepted for printing. Signatures and symbols must be printed. When scanning, the image resolution should be 300 dpi. The priority is to send original illustrations. Small illustrations can be placed in the text of the article.

Photos should be submitted as original contrast prints. In the captions to the microphotographs, indicate the magnification and method of colouring the material. Negatives and slides are not accepted for publication.

Information about the authors is provided on a separate sheet and contains the following information about each author: surname, name, patronymic, academic degree, academic rank, place of work, position, official address, telephone, e-mail. The surname of the author with whom correspondence should be conducted should be underlined.

Personal data is collected and processed in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection" of 01 June 2010, No. 2297-VI as amended.

Information on conflicts of interest. Authors should disclose potential and apparent conflicts of interest related to the manuscript. Any situation (financial relations, service or work in institutions that have a financial or political interest in published materials, official duties, etc.) that may affect the author of the manuscript and lead to concealment, distortion of data or change in their interpretation may be considered a conflict of interest. The existence of a conflict of interest in one or more authors is not a reason for refusing to publish an article. Concealment of potential and obvious conflicts of interest on the part of the authors, detected by the Editorial Board, may result in refusal to review and publish the manuscript.

Articles that do not comply with the above requirements are not registered. First and foremost, the articles of the journal's subscribers are published, as well as materials ordered by the editorial board.

The editorial board reserves the right to correct terminological and stylistic errors; to remove unnecessary illustrations and shorten the text with the consent of the authors.
